Busy Bees Make Time for Tea Hive

Once you leave a place that you so dearly called home it's a curious thing to discover what you miss about it. It's also a curious thing to find out what will sway in making the effort to return to that place that you have now left. For me, the eateries of Manchester are some of the best ever and Teahive would be up there at the very top of my list.

Found on Manchester Road in the very heart of Chorlton, Teahive is a little gem of a place  stuffed full of rickety little tables and squashy arm chairs it's the perfect place to grab good quality comfort food at any time of the day. With a vast selection of breakfast dishes, brunch options, all-day eggs, home-made cakes and more loose-leaf tea than you care to dream of you really are spoilt for choice.
That being said, I always order the same thing because it's just so damn good...

I always start with the almond tea because it's like sipping on liquid marzipan.

^^^In my happy place right there^^^

To eat it always has to be the Eggs Teahive - a pimped up version of eggs benedict with the addition of avocado, bacon and the most amazing garlic butter mushrooms you will ever find, EVER!

Which is why Mum always orders a huge portion of the Mushrooms on Toast and asks for a poached egg on top which Teahive have always been more than happy to provide (because they are just so lovely like that).

If it looks like I've licked that plate clean it's because I probably have.

If you actually have any spare room for cake then there is usually a huge selection of around ten or more to choose from including gluten-free options.
We often don't but can usually manage a hot chocolate and, my personal favourite, Honeycomb Latte which is made using honey and double cream (don't think of the calories, just enjoy the sweet, coffee goodness and then cry later if needed).

If you are looking for a new little brunch spot or somewhere to spend a lazy afternoon then I urge you to give Teahive a go. It gets pretty busy around lunchtime so be sure to get there just before (or after) the rush and to, of course, allow yourself enough time to peruse the extensive tea and cake selection.
